Google Adwords

Google Adwords is one of the profound developments in the history of Advertising, because until its introduction, advertisement meant to the people, some message or screenstory been displayed in a magazine or a radio or TV or any media. The purpose of advertisement is to reach the masses, publicising their products of sale, thereby achieve a selling and profits. The cost of advertisements were huge and recouped by the Merchant in the Sale Price of the Article advertised. Whereas, Google allows you to spend just 5 bucks and immediately have access to more than hundreds of million people, targetted one's you want. In other words, it targets them to your product when they are looking for what you have got.The best part being you can pick the exact keywords that you want, you can bid on those keywords, you can write the ad that as you want people to be noticed and you pay only when they click on your ad. So it is an unique form of advertising that never existed in the Internet before. Google Adwords is simply a pay-per-click service.

If you have a site that you make money from, either as a product owner or as an affiliate promoting the product of the owner, you have low cost, medium budget and high targetted traffic to your affiliate product, using Google Adwords. If you are not using Google Adwords, then you are missing out a gold mine.

Google excels giving a great user experience and maintaining very high standards. They do not compromise to earn more dollars and have a good and loyal followers. Speed of Google and the ability it provides the user to make changes, to test things, to try better ideas for driving targetted traffic to your website is astonishing. They have evolved an entirely new concept of direct marketing.

How Adwords Work?

Adwords sell you space for placing ads, which shows up in the Google's Search terms results page, on the right side. You are paying for displaying these adverts when a Google user searches.

With Adwords, keep in mind, that you are charged only when someone clicks on your advert and not for seeing the ad you have created. The amount you will be charges depends significantly on various factors, like, how much you are prepared to pay-per-click, your maximum bid amount for the keywords you selected for your ad, number of people who have clicked your ads, the number of times that your ad is clicked per hundred view (CTR-Click Through Rate). The most important factor being CTR. It is always better to aim for a higher CTR because it is used in Google's Quality Score. The basic reason being that Google wants the ads to be relevant to the search term.

Adwords Campaign and Adgroups

In your Adwords account you can create as many campaigns as you like. A campaign refers to a particular promotion that you are running. You should create a distinct campaign for distinct promotion, after all, it pays when you are organised.

Within your Ad Campaign you will have multiple adgroups. An adgroup is a list of related keywords for which you will be displaying the same ads. It is worth to have a lot of adgroups within each campaign, with 5 to 20 keywords within each adgroup. The trick behind successful adwords campaign being to uncheck "Show better-performing ads more often" and to uncheck "Content-Network" Google's Content Network is nothing but Adsense. Why I instructed to uncheck "Content-Network" is for the reason that, the traffic from such content-network is often relatively untargetted and also click-thru fraud is involved from such traffic.

Writing the Ads

Having good ad leads to high CTR which again leads to low cost and high targetted traffic. So Writing ads is something which require a creativity. The prominent part of writing an ad copy is that your ad must be relevant to what the user would be searching for. The next being the headline. Your ad copy headline should be eye-catching. My tips for those who promote more products and also to newbies, whose skills of writing ads is not so good, just search google for the keyword you are about to use for your adwords campaign, Note down the headlines of those adwords adverts that appear in the first page, 'copy the best one and just paste' it in your adwords campaign, Voila..you have created an ad that Google felt relevant to your keyword and this is the simplest way to set and forget your campaigns.
